What is Hydroseeding?
Standard residential customers can expect to $0.18 to $0.25 per Square Foot.
Hydroseeding is an efficient, high quality and inexpensive method of seeding a lawn. Hydroseeding is a mixture or “slurry” of high quality grass seed, mulch, fertilizer and tackifier. This slurry is made and mixed within a hydroseeding tank and then applied to the soil with a high pressure pump and hose. The slurry acts as it’s own “ecosystem” and allows the newly applied grass seed to flourish within it.
Germination can happen in under 2 weeks and the customer can expect to have a lawn ready for it’s first cut within 4 weeks!
At first application, you’ll notice the slurry has a green/blue tint, as germination takes place, within the first couple weeks, the color should start to fade and blades of grass will start to sprout.
The customer may be interested in one seed type for a beautiful front lawn and another seed blend for the shadier areas. Some customer opt for wildflower seeds for areas of your yard that are hard to mow or where color is wanted.
Hydroseeding is commonly used for things like:
- Beautifying yards
- Residential lawns
- Commercial lawns
- Preventing or stopping erosion
- Eliminating or reducing dust pollution
- Preventing weed growth
